Second triptronic **** review and pictures. (dave's design)
After trying the SPP triptronic shift **** for a couple of weeks I decided that I didn't like it. There was too much play in the adapter and the **** didn't really match at all. Some of this may be able to be fixed with a better ****, but the slop really needs to be fixed by a redesign.
After posting my initial thoughts Dave posted his design. I decided to give it a shot and very pleasantly surprised. The **** and shaft (yes I know how that sounds) is all one piece and very solid. This means no more gap between the silver sleeve and the bottom of the **** during shifting. The device itself is made of solid aluminum and has a very solid feeling. The tolerances are made to be very close and they are. There is almost zero play in the thing after install. I think it matches very well and gives a much better feeling that the stock leather shifter. I will definitely be keeping this one..
