secondary air pump (smog pump)
do i really need the smog pump,
can i just remove it and put
a little filter on the hose right next
to the combination valve?

right now i need to replace the kombi valve,
or the pump, the dealer will replace it, i still
have warranty. im just wondering if i can take it out and just put a filter where the kombi valve is. the pump is in the way of my fmic.

If you are running the stock air box you can relocate the smog pump to where the factory
intercooler was. If you have an aftermarket intake you can just mount the smog pump up a little higher that way it doesn't interfere with the fmic.
