Default SecuringSub Box in Trunk

Hey Everyone,

Just got done installing my amp and sub in my A4 sedan, wanted to see how people are securing their sub boxes. Right now I just got the cargo net acting as a bungee holding it in place....anyone have a better way? Velcra? THanks.

Default Mine just stays put. Carpet on the box against the carpet on the trunk plus the weight of the box,

it doesn't move at all.

Default Ratchet strap across to the tie-downs if it needs to be removed for space.

I like useing L-brackets w/security screws if permanent installation.

Default You can pick these up at most hardware stores...

They work pretty well and last a long time if kept dry.<ul><li><a href="http://www.keepercorp.com/prod/xtras/05511.htm">Keeper Ratchet Tie-down</a></li></ul>

Default I used nylon straps anchored to the tie downs in the rear....

I screwed it into both sides at the back of the box, you can see in the pic below.

Default Those are a bit more than what is needed. No need for major tie-downs.

I used a nylon shoulder strap off an old bag I no longer wanted. I cut two pieces and put each one through the rear anchors in the trunk and screwed the two ends together into the sides of the box. The box doesn't move and hasen't for the 10 years it has been in there. I guess the big tie-downs would work but they are not the cleanest look..I guess whatever works.

Default That must be a heavy box or you don't hit the turns that hard! =-P

I tried it at first without any tie downs and the box moved around terribly, almost ripped out the electrical connections. Although, I only have a small box that is basically just big enough to fit the 12.
