Default Self Repost: Still trying to solve a friends windshield wiper parking issue....

The wipers do not park at the lowest point in the arc. He re-positioned the arms to get them to park lower, but they are still not functioning correctly. What parks them at the lowest point? Is there some kind of limit switch? Is there a way to adjust the linkage? Bentley is no help. He's getting ready to just replace the motor, but seems like there should be a fix.

Any ideas?

Default Try this.

When you have the wipers removed turn on your wipers just so the motor goes through a full cycle and stops where it's supposed to. Then slide them back on in the parked position.

Default you're not folloing me. The wipers park about 5 degrees up from the bottom of the arc.

They sweep, go to the bottom of the arc, come up 5 or so degrees then park.

You sure? That would be an easy fix.

Default I know what your saying. Take them out and reposition them in the correct spot.( 5degrees lower)

The motor park the wipers. It doesn't pick the right spot. It does one rotation and it stops in the same place every time. If you take out the wipers and reposition them that's the new spot it will park.

Default I have a spare *389 relay you can try but I don't think that will fix it.

Is it a 2000 maybe?

The relay tells them how fast to go and how often to do it but the motor picks the parking spot.

Right, but then, they will sweep down below the windshield and will not reach the top.
