Default Yeah, you're right.. now that I think of it.. it's been a while since I've played with wiper motors.

If they park in the same spot every time, then it's not the relay. If they park wherever they are when you cut the switch off, then it is teh relay.

Default Actually that's exactly right. Wherever you set it that's where it will start and finish.

Have you even seen how it works? And is that a picture of a BPV gone Blow off Valve?

Default Half right. The sweep is dictated by the linkage. The distance is fixed.

The wipers need to be positioned to cover the sweep.

The motor controls the parking spot. It stops in one place.

The linkage arm from the motor to the wiper linkage syncs up the spot where the motor stops to the correct spot in the sweep range.

Youmay, however, be on to something with you comment about the wiper motor. When the motors get old, sometimes the parking spot can move around. If the adjustment doesn't solve the issue permanently, the motor should be replaced.

Go try it and report back. I take no responsibility for scratched paint. ;-)

Default Lucky you. Our old 90 went through about 4 of them in 100k miles.

Definitely not a common problem area though.

Default That's what I'm trying to say. Sounds like you have seen it. So why wouldn't repositioning the

wipers work then? Worked for me.

Default Actually, they'll sweep over the driver's side A pillar and probably hit the mirror -- it would be..

exciting regardless.

Has to be some kind of internal limit switch -- maybe it is a bad motor.
