Serious Question about Tiptronic transmission
I have always driven some pretty beastly cars all standard and most had clutches capable of laughing at 1000hp all day. Well i picked up a 99' 1.8t A4 with a Tip. transmission for daily driving but I didn't realize how slow it really was. I have asked this question elsewhere and gotten the run around this forum seems more like the people I am used to who know what they are talking about.
How much power can the Tiptronic transmission hold for everyday use before it lets go?
I was thinking about 15psi on a K04 or Gt28Rs and a tubular manifold and stage 2 chip. Would I be pushing it. Would 300hp be pushing it?

Buy a manual. I wouldnt put a 28RS on a tip, maybe a K04.
15psi on the 28rs, why? they turbo is designed for ~24. Just get a stage one chip on the K03 and it will run 14.7. I personally wouldnt mod a tip at all.

I am not worried about drag racing. I just want a nicer power band. I am more of a winding mountain road (Touge) person.

I had a T-28 on my Tip. The car would have handled it just fine. There are a few guys running big
turbos on Tiptronic transmissions. You are risking it though. I had a Level 10 upgraded valve body and I believe the car would have been fine. I say would have been because the motor let loose first. Long story...
However, if you're just looking to improve things, a K04 setup is really ok.
