shopping for winter tires...
well i read the info available in the FAQ and searched a bit it seems like the dunlop wintersport m2 and m3 seem to be highly rated here as well as the blizzak ws-50 and some of the nokian tires.... i also did a bunch of reading on tire rack and a lot of audi owner's left reviews for the m3...any last advice before i get a set of m3's? anything i havent covered?
p.s. they're going on my stock wheels and the size i would be ordering is 195/65/15...

don't confuse winter tires and snow tires
Blizzaks and Nokians are snow tires. Wintersports and some of the others are winter tires.
Snow tires are obvisouly designed for snow, but outside of snow, you'd rather not be driving on them.
Winter tires have sipes and snow tire qualities, such as a composition that doesn't get rock hard in really cold temperatures, but they are still good for highway driving at highway speeds when the roads are clear but the temps are cold.
I have Vredestein Wintrac winter tires and I'm happy with them. Unless your area has deep snow often, winter tires will probably be sufficient.

im not concerned about how they look on the car..
performance in a winter tire is my main concern and my general understanding is the skinnier the better...i should be upgrading suspension and pickin up 18's as warmer weather arrives again so my stockies can forever serve winterduty instead of pickin up steelies
