Default Short Shifter Install.

How hard is a install? I was thinking about doing one but wondered if it was a task I could take on myself? I am moderately technically inclined.

Thanks!

Default It's not hard to do. I just takes patience, lots of it. a friend who has already done it, makes it

easier too. I suggest getting the C-clip tool to take out the "C" ring as it would almost be impossible without it, although, I'm sure it can be done. You'll also need (2) small 10mm wrenches. Also, it you're installing the UUC, I suggest doing Damon's zip-tie mod. It worked very well on mine to take out the "play".

Default my uuc wasnt all that difficult if you have the right tools, but it is

a lot easier to have someone else there to help you out. would have been really hard to do all by myself.

It takes around an hour. Make sure you have a circlip pliers and a magnetic pickup tool.

Default It's easy if you have a set of ball end metric allen wrenches. It takes me less than 10 minutes to

install one. The ball end wrench is a HANDY tool for removing and installing the allen head cap screw that holds the end of the shifter into the shifter linkage. You can use a box end 10 mm wrench over the short end of the allen wrench for leverage.

I had all the tools and did the UUC in about 20-30 minutes by myself.
