Going to install a short shifter soon - and have read the tech article on it - just wondering if I need a particular size of circlip pliers for the job?
Can anyone advise?
Thanks,
Cush

I had no trouble getting mine out without the pliers. Its not your standard flat, relatively hard to remove without pliers type of circlip. Mine was flimsy and poped right out with little effort. One thing i will warn you about though is the little plastic tabs that protrude from the opening after you remove the shift boot...mine were like razors and my fingers are chewed to hell now but it was so worth it!
Good luck

I used on of them for the shifter before and it was perfect. You can just borrow mine if you can wait.

if you are localto Boston, you can still borrow mine, or else look for the set on harborfreight.com and just get those. It's like a 5 or 6 piece set for less than $10.

Yeah - would be a bit difficult for me to borrow them - being that I'm in the UK - but thanks anyway. Can get a cheap pair here too - just want to make sure I get the right kind as there seems to be several different sizes...
