Default UPDATE: Matt said its fine on the rotor surface, but I should take some WD40 to the hat side

and try to remove that before assembly.

I'll still get some rust there anyway, but it can't hurt to clean that up.

Once again, Stoptech has the best customer service!

Default I could only guess since they're the original rotors from a prior owner. I have many track days

on them as well.

I think we (PO and I) went through about 3-4 sets street pads (mostly Axxis Ultimates) and 2 sets of track pads (Pagid Orange).

seriously, these rotors are toast and are well over due to be replaced. and so are the cracked hats near the drive pins due to winter chemicals used on the roads in the NE, which I think, IIRC, have been 4 winters (2 each) and not 2004 since he removed them before and I installed them afterwards since I was running 16" AT Italia S5 wheels wrapped Dunlop Winter Sport M2s that didn't clear the brakes (Ray Kahn has them now).

Since I'll have two complete sets of assembled rotors/hats, I think I may swap these back on during the winter months.

Default Thanks for the info. I'm thinking about getting the ST bbk and our winters are harsh.

Any info is appreciated.

Default Doesnt stoptech use cadmium plating on their disks? Or doesn't it last?

Those look really bad. What's with the big gap on the dust seals?
