Should Timing Belt Service Include Replacing Water Pump?
#13
The labor is a hellva lot more than the part...
And they do 95% of the labor when doing the TB.
It's a no-brainer... and $1050, hell, that's more than California pricing... (It's about $800 here for an indy-shop.)

Re: Should Timing Belt Service Include Replacing Water Pump?
I just had mine done at a local indepedent shop here in Greenville, SC. I would definitely recommend doing the water pump. Water pump is about $100 for the part. Do the thermostat too (only $25).
I had the following items replaced: timing belt, belt tensioner, belt roller, water pump, thermostat, radiater flush/new coolant. All this, including labor, was $950.
(The dealer quoted me $1200 to $1300).
