I am planning on buying a new A4 1.8T.
I am having some trouble deciding what
color I want. I know it's ultimately up
to me, but what are your guys experiences
with these colors?

i have had both silver and black cars. silver is easy to clean and to keep clean. the problem with this is that you never get a great satisfaction after you wash and wax your car, besides when you touch it.
a black car is HARD to KEEP clean, but it's the best color when it is clean though. i noticed that chips and knicks are noticeable on both colors, however, silver hides dirt very easily.
after having a bunch of black cars, my dream was to get a silver one, so i did. i love the color, and despite it being the most popular color for the a4, i don't see them nearly as often on the road as other colors. when we go to meets, there are a lot of silvers though, but if you like the color and you don't want to wash it every week, go for it.

Actually the A4 is silver, my wif'e's wagon is brilliant black. I'll never buy a black car ever again. Looks fantastic when it's freshly washed and detailed. Looks terrible when it's dirty. And it looks dirty a lot of the time because it shows every little thing. And the swirl marks, sheesh. Seems like no matter what, I end up having to do frequent glaze treatments to get rid of the swirls. Of course, when I'm done with all of that, and there's a fresh coat of Blitz wax on her, she's a thing of beauty even after 3 years of ownership. But it just ain't worth the trouble, IMO. Now granted, maintaining the paint on an A6 wagon is a lot more work than maintaining a little A4. Sometimes it seems like it's got twice the surface area. But even so, and as much as I love how a black A4 looks, I'd have to vote for silver. Or just about any color other than black.
This question gets asked all the time, and I usually pass on it, but today I just felt like doing a little rant.
