Silver paint question: How close can I expect any repainted parts to match? Will you always
be able to tell however slightly a non-factory paint job? I'm wondering cause my car is being repainted and It looks good, but not the same as the factory. If you look really close the new paint looks just a little more "orange-peely". Am I being to fussy? Or is it possible to perfectly match the finish and look of the factory silver paint? How hard is it to match the silver? How many coats are typically required? Any other info would help.

who did the repair?
if the paint is orange peely then they didnt do a great job sanding/prepping- as far as color match IMO you'll never get a "perfect" match cuz the paint can fade, change in sun, just a time thing ... - not sure on whether silver is more difficult to match - just be thankful you dont have to match pearl

I wouldn't worry too much,
the orange peely effect is something you should worry about too much unless it's really bad. I would actually ask one of the technicians about it. Factory paint while not impossible to recreate is pretty difficult to do perfectly, especially when you are repainting body panels instead of getting new ones. It generally takes two to three good color coats which are wet sanded between each and then baked on. The final is a clearcoat which is then applied.
