Default Simple brake fluid question

So i just picked up a B5. Looks like the guy had put above max brake fluid in the reservoir. Is it acceptable for me to just open the cap up and siphon out the excess fluid?

I'm assuming no since it will introduce air into the brake fluid. But it would be nice and easy...

Thanks.

Default yes. that's fine. I use one of the baby nose suction thingies.

but, being slightly above is fine. it'll only go down as you use up your brake pads.

flush every 2 years or earlier.

a Motive brake bleeder is great investment.

http://www.germanautoparts.com/tools</a

Default or submerge a hose in a bottle with some brake fluid and attach to bleeder... when you

pump the brakes, the submerged hose will not allow air back in.

Default of course, for bleeding, but Rotorhead is just asking if it's ok to remove fluid above the max

line by removing the cap on the tank and taking some out.
