Default Is a slight fast ticking noise normal from the engine?
I can only hear it when the hood is open and I'm standing outside the car. No CEL or anything, I'm just wondering.

Yeah, fine. FWIW, I've noticed it since I took delivery of the car. Prolly just normal noise.

Completely normal... I'm not sure what it is though... lifters?

***i had the same thing, its the fan belt, just lather it with some wd40 and you are set!

if it ticks at the rate of a clock (approx- slightly faster). It's your alternator that's normal.
