Default Slightly bent (alloy wheel) rim/lip

Hi,
I took my A4 off the curb and one of my wheels' rim's lip has a slight bend on the inner side. The tire of-course loses air every time I drive over very bumpy roads and I have to refill the air every time. I'm going to replace the tire (because of some bubbles that have formed)

The neighbourhood Wheel repair guy claims that a gentle hammering into shape wouldn't help. He says its gonna break, simply because its an alloy rim...is this really the case ? He says if it were a steel rim he cda hammered it a bit and all would be OK.

Please advise. Do I really need a new rim ? Its got a very small...a 2 - 3 inch (circumference wise) long and maybe 1/2 - 1 inch wide bend (outwards from the tire).

If you take it to a repuatable wheels repair shop they will have equipment that heats up the alloy and they can gently bend the wheel back to round. It has been done many times by good shops. Where are you located? Maybe ask local guys if there is a really good shop around you like Wheel Collision Center in PA. Wheelcollision.com
