Is a small misfire count under WOT tolerable? I got a blinking CEL going up one mountain at WOT...
but no drivability issues. It's a cylinder 2 intermittent misfire. I logged misfires about a month and a half ago and cylinder 2 (block 015) showed a 1 for 7 times in a row during a WOT run on flat ground. The blinking CEL thing happened to me once last year on that same stretch of road at WOT going up the mountain, but I never did check the codes since the CEL magically went away after turning the car off and on again. Could it be that I'm just running the widest gapped plugs possible and the added load of going uphill is getting the high misfire count?

it would be worth a coil pack/plug check
which plugs are you using, what is the gap, how long have you had thhis particular set in the car?
If you swap cylinder 2 with another's coil pack, is the misfiring still in cylinder 2?

Bosch F7LTCR for a little over 16k miles. Gap is set to whatever the 3 prongs came
I haven't done any further diagnosis (ie, swap coilpacks) since I didn't know if it was normal or not and there's no misfire count when going less than WOT.

No.
That's the short answer.
Some misfires are allowed, and will not trigger a CEL. But if you exceed some threshold (forget what that is) you'll trip the CEL. Once you see that, start looking for a problem/fix. Sounds like it's the plugs. Next up might be the boots under the coilpacks if they are original (replace all of them...they are cheap). Last, do a coilpack swap and see what happens.

I would try some new plugs
I never had issues with stock plugs when I was chipped. I'm a fan of the cheap copper NGK BKR6E's (for K03 cars). Or go with the PFR6Q if you want to spend more money up front for much longer lasting plugs.

New, as in different. I just got another set of F7LTCRs for my planned maintenance soon
I'm going to play musical ignition parts this weekend and see if it follows a plug or coilpack.
