Is a small misfire count under WOT tolerable? I got a blinking CEL going up one mountain at WOT...

Default would you also recommend keeping that black plastic cover off the top of the airbox?

I think I've read that it doesn't help the cooling of the power output stage and heat can cause the failure (notorious cylinder 2 misfire) which has happened to me once before.

that happened to me after runing ik20's on a chipped car... wasnt good

No, and a misfire that makes the CEL flash is a) bad and b) a drivability problem

Default I logged again today and got no misfire count. I didn't get a full run up the mountain, but...

I did have it in 5th with a good load on the engine. I noticed that the misfire recognition is on and off (enabled/disabled) somewhat frequently. From the RPM and MAF readings, it looks like it's enabled when I'm on the gas, then disabled when I'm off. I've read that a "rough road signal" can cause a misfire code, since it affects the misfire recognition. Should I be looking in another direction here? Like the ABS module? I had no other codes when I did an all controllers scan this weekend, so as far as I can tell, the ABS is working fine.
