Do any A4 owners get a chemical smell when the A/C is on economy. It smells like the factory windshield washer fluid. Where is the air intake for economy setting, is it underneath the car?

My a/c has been a mess. Dealer still hasn't been able to figure out why high-pitching hissing noise from the compressor comes into the passenger cabin...

Some funky methanol/ethanol/? mix I believe. Although the effect should be greater on fresh air setting, not economy (the fresh air enters at the base of the windshield. Someone posted the receipe here a while back. Although why you would want to mix your own I'll never know...
