Default Smoked Licence Plate Cover

Are they Legal in all 50 states? <p>Want to get one in order to maintain that all black look. I'd like to avoid having to get a clear one. My PA plate is Yellow lettering on Blue.<p>Do you need a frame to put one on or not?<p>No offense to YBH, but i wanna get rid of their flimsy frame, and i feel like a change from my metal university frame from my old Mitsu.<p><br>Thanks,<p>trifona<br>'99.5 1.8tqms

Default Actually, much like headlight covers. 'For Off Road Use Only' I'm pretty sure they're illegal everywhere

Default Ditto in Texas, to a point...legalofficermumbojumboinside

I'm a traffic officer in Tx and in San Antonio we do not use photo radar. Although, a dark tinted lp cover can be considered illegal if the lp can not be legibly seen by an officer 50 ft behind the vehicle.

Default Ditto in Minnesota...they'll pull you over for any tint

Law was passed last year. Amazing how quickly the tinted covers disappeared. You can't find them in any of the auto supply houses any more.
