Default I love my car and can not afford to get a new one, I got it a year ago with 13K

My wife drives it most of the time now, So I like the Idea of all the airbags. I just do not want to be paying for major repairs after the warranty, I have the Audi Assured thing till 75 K

Default I think everyone has little problems like this. Doesn't bother me much. For example, I've had

at 24,000 Miles

1. Blown Rear Speakers (Twice)
2. Radio Replaced and Still Not Working
3. Belt Tensioner Replaced and Failing Again
4. Driver's Door Lock Broken and Replaced
5. Fuel Door Lock Replaced

Other small things too. I really don't care as long as it's under warranty.

Default Dropped it off for service. 10000 mile service.

Think when they where leaning over the engine bay they knocked the fender with screw driver or something. I called and complained after getting home and they got it out the next day. They said they did not do it but I was positive it was not there when I gave them the car. Why I always take digi picture of my car before giving it to them.

Default If you have the 75k audi assured then I would keep it for sure.

I think most of your problems are just minor things that might happen on any car. But once fixed should be ok. Except the Bushings, that might be the exception.

Default All of my "little problems" were handled while under warranty....

and I haven't had problems since. I just hit 85K and I still love it!

Problems I've had:
- Bad speaker
- Control arm bushings (common problem)
- AC compressor

Thats it...still tight a s drum now!

BTW...I've been chipped since 20K.

Default Dude, we just had this conversation yesterday!

What you're describing is pretty normal (albeit, you're "little" problems would have been quite expensive, were it not for the warranty--which is about finished). German cars are expensive to maintain...esp. if you're paying your dealer to do every little thing.

One option is to get an extended warranty if you're uncomfortable paying for these things...but with the mileage you're racking up, that extended warranty will carry you for about 16 more months.

Another option is to learn to start fixing things yourself.

Another option is to get another car.

Your last option is to buy a reliable second car for the high mileage driving, so you're not racking up the miles on an expensive-to-maintain, and easy-to-depreciate German car. Something like an older Honda with 70K miles is perfect. You should get another 70K of reliable mileage out of the car, and it shouldn't lose more than $5K in depreciation. Timing belt, water pump, and oil changes are all that it will need (hopefully).

Default the bushing problem should be your main concern

For that to go bad THREE times in 40k miles says SOMETHING else is wrong and causing it to go bad.

The air bag sensor I have heard of other people have that problem. Probably won't happen again.

Washer pump crap is a common problem. If it fails again, leave it that way. Headlight washers suck anyway.
