So I ordered a shortshifter off ebay, but apparently the guy sent me the wrong one, it's for a 98-02

Default So I ordered a shortshifter off ebay, but apparently the guy sent me the wrong one, it's for a 98-02
Passat. Will this work on a 2001 1.8t? The people may have marked the outside of the box wrong, but before I opened it I wanted to check. TIA.

Default MUCH BETTER, shorter throws (about 50%), a little loss of slop (not much).......
I also have the E-bay, B&M copy short-shifter copy. And I love it besides the chip, (which I got for $100 bucks) . best under 100 dollar mod ever. Matter of fact i paid like 39$ shipped to my door.

go to the B&M website, and use their instructions, you will have to skip some steps.
