OK NOT THAT I KNOW........ but I can imagine.
Seriously it is SOOOooooOOOoooo much better. It seriously is one of the best bang/buck/simple to do mods.

kinda, I actually used both..........(more)
I used the AW write-up to take the stock shifter out, B&M instructions to put the short shifter together, then put everything back together.

tips inside............
<center><img src="http://images.andale.com/f2/109/113/17223907/1105612947111_SS_VW2.jpg"></center><p>your only gonna use about 4 of those 15 parts:
obviously the blue linkage and shifter, the two white bushing (for the holes where the linkage connects.), and 1 of those little clips to hold the "ball in place".
another tip is I used the stock rubber boot that holds the shift boot correctly. (you'll see what I mean), It's a bitch to get off, use WD-40 and pull from the main shaft part of the rubber. It's worth it since then your boot won't sag and will look stock.
By the way since it's your first time doing this i'm gonna say it's gonna take you 2-4 hours, yes that long.
One more tip. Don't start the job if you dont have circlip pliers..........trust me. Autozone has them for like 10 bucks with 4 different heads.
Enjoy hope this helps
