So let's say you lined up a PES 2.8G2, PES T28 1.8T, and a chipped S4...

What would you expect to happen?
Well, last night a few of us were curious ourselves...so we did a few runs just to see what would happen.
S4: chipped - 2 weeny overworked hairdryers, 3 people
2.8 G2: G2 (doh!), 2 people, brullen exhaust
1.8T T28: Medium-sized hairdryer, milltek exhaust, and a FMIC to keep things cool, 2 people
Honda: something-or-another
My expectation...the 1.8T and S4 would be neck and neck, and the G2 would get left behind at >80 mph.
I was more than a little surprised to see that G2 next to me up to 90 or 100 mph. Wow! As expected, it would reach a point where it would fall back, but the difference wasn't astonishing.
The T28 and S4 were pretty well matched. 60-80, the T28 seemed to have a slight edge. 80-100, dead even as far as I could tell. North of 110, the S4 would start to gain a bit, but we shut it down, not having any interest whatsoever in meeting a cellmate named Bubba.
Later I got a ride in the G2...it impressed me more than I thought it would. Very linear power delivery. The programming for this kit is nothing short of excellent. Very smooth, no peaks or dips in power that I could discern, and it pulls hard. 3rd gear is the money gear in this car. 4th and 5th, not so much. It's very S4-like, in that it's quiet, deceptive power delivery. Usually a glance at things going by in your window, or a brief look at the speedo tell the real tale.
In comparison, the S4 has 3rd and 4th, where it pulls like a beast...and then there's the T28, which doesn't really care what gear you're in, as long as you keep the tach up! The audible orchestra under the hood pretty much clue you into how fast you're actually going.
It's really cool to see two A4's, created for two different purposes by Audi...and then to see what the aftermarket has done with them! The aftermarket support available for these cars is nothing short of astonishing, imho. And the efforts at creating long term, solutions suitable for daily drivers should be applauded! I doubt you'll find this level of quality anywhere else, without spending gobs of money...and even then, money often times won't buy the kind of quality I see in the aftermarket parts for our cars. We're very lucky to own these cars!
Oh, I almost forgot about the Honda...I didn't even realize he existed. Someone else told me when we stopped to discuss. Apparently the Honda wanted to play, but once the three of us set up to do the roll ons...he vanished in our mirrors. Ooooops! If somebody can find this guy in a Honda forum, please apologize on our behalf...I had NO idea he wanted to play (not that that would have changed the outcome).
Oh, and I'll refrain from identifying the other miscreants in this little discovery of ours (for obvious reasons)....

The brullen exhaust makes a bit of noise, but other than that, it's fairly quite imho...which is one of the reasons I said it's "S4-like". You don't hear much, you just go!
