So my car is faster, but 1-2nd don't seem much better, if any/
I posted last Thursday about it, got the Dahlback chip on my car. It's a 2001 1.8t fronttrak tiptronic.
I can feel more boost in 3rd, it real kicks in the pant, but in 1-2 it's like nothing more then stock. WTF?
Anyone else experiance no additional boost in 1-2 but additional boost in just 3-5?
Any light into this is appreciated.
Thanks

probably because the delievery is so smooth. Ask Justin about it, he is obsessed with his dahlback.
when your hitting it in 1st and 2nd, dont just try to gudge by the feel, but look down at the speedo.

Thats what I was thinking, but I have been looking at the speedo,
doesn't seem much faster, but once I hit 3rd my car pull WAY harder then it previously did, acceleration in 3rd is about the same as what it does in 2nd before the upshift.

hmm, i can definitely feel boost in 1st and 2nd, more than stock.
it's hard to hit 21psi in 2nd, usually 20 at part throttle, and even less at full throttle.
just like my giac chip, 1st gear is "touchy". at anything slightly above 30% throttle my giac chip would start boosting and you would definitely feel a sudden surge of power. with dahlback, it takes a lil more gas to get it to give you that abrupt boost, which works better for me during daily driving. personally that boost in 1st is annoying and too abrupt for normal driving. but when you get on it, it's definitely there.
my guess is because you are tip. have you tried shifting into tip mode and manually selecting 1st gear? my bmws automatic uses 2nd gear to start off almost all the time, unless on a grade. if audi does that too, will be hard for your turbo to get going.
which chip did u have them put in (which mods did u tell them you had)? i told them to give me one which was tuned for an exhaust. maybe their tuning for no exhaust setups is less aggressive?
