For a while now, whenever I would fill up on gas, I would smell gasoline inside the car... At first I thought I just stepped in some gas or got it on my hands or something... but everytime I get gas it was happening. So, it couldn't be that I was stepping in gas...
So yesterday, I pull out of my spot at work, and sure enough... I notice a wet spot about the diameter of a basket ball, just in front of where my passenger side rear tire was... I got out to check what it was... Yep, you guess it... Gasoline.
I haven't noticed bad gas mileage or anything like that... in fact I avg'd over 28 mpg the other day on a trip to Langley AFB...
Any ideas what it could be?

Once when I changed the fuel filter I did not tighten it enough and it leaked a little. Then the other day when I got gas when I got home there was a small puddle under the car. I guess the tank was overfilled because once I drove it a little to use some gas it did not leak any more. Does it leak all the time, or just after a fill up? You may be overfilling, I believe there is an overflow tube.

That's what my fuel leak was. It would only happen after I filled my car up. What was happening was the fuel pump would be transferring fuel from the overflow tank to the main tank.
If you take out your trunk carpet, you'll see a round metal cover held on with 3 screws. Unscrew it and you'll find the fuel pump underneath. See if it's wet. Maybe one of the hose clamps came loose.
Good luck.
