Default so whats the difference between a6 2.8 and a4 2.8

how are these engines different? I am pretty sure i read somewhere that the a6 2.8 has something around 210 hp? Isn't there anything out there like a upgrade that will make our a4 2.8's up to par with the a6's? 20 more hp plus the chip intake and exhaust bit would be very competitive.
---------------
or am i totally wrong about all of this?

Default the difference between a6 2.8 and a4 2.8 is one is slow and heavy (A4)

and the A6 is twice as slow and twice as heavy like a Land Yat!!
Ohh and about the 10HP difference...don't worry the but dyno will never feel anything..

Default Audi Should Do Some 'Splaining On This One...................

For my money (or horsepower) it's most likely just marketing. Audi doesn't want the A4 on par with the A6. I'll bet you if you put them both on a dyno, they'd be the same (or at least as close as production tolerance allows).

I believe it has to do with the intake plumbing and the exhaust

Default Which model year of A6? The new one has the same 3.0l 220 hp as the new A4 . . .

The old A6 had the same hp specs as the old A4's.

1996 A6 and A4 12v's both had ratings of 172 hp and 184 lbs.ft. of torque.

1998 A6 and A4 30v's both had 207 lbs.ft. of torque at 3200 RPM, but the A6's allegedly had 200 hp and the A4's 190 at 6000 RPM.

It's exactly the same engine, so I would guess that the A6 had a freer flowing exhaust system that allowed for slightly more high RPM hp.
