SOme a$$hole stole my front license plate and replace it with another NY plate, wtf!!!!!
I washed my car today since it was soo nice outside. Looking at it after i was finished i noticed my front lisence plate. I was like what the hell, that doesnt look like my plate. i even checked my back plates just to make sure i wasnt seeing things. so i went to the police and they ran the plate. it happens to be from QUeens and I live in Yonkers. i havent been to queens in 2 weeks. but i'm pretty sure this didnt happen that long ago..but then again, i actally washed the plate on the car and didnt even notice then...there are some ppl out there with no lives. now i have to get new plates, i liked my old numbers....=(

Hmmm... isn't the registration posted on the windshield in NY?
If that's the case, they probably didn't want to pay the registration fee and stole your front plate figuring you wouldn't notice and they could drive their car with your plate for a while.
Try replacing the phillips screw with a metric sized bolt and washer. That'll keep most hooligans from doing that again. (It's easy to walk around with a Phillips head and standard flat-blade screwdriver. It's not as easy walking around with a metric socket set.)

:-) It's kinda funny...
I'm mean you've been driving around how long...and you just noticed today? I'm wondering what kind of loser has so much time on their hands that they are running around swapping plates...utter waste (but yes, a little funny).

A10 thought the person could have stolen the plates, put them on their car, ...
and then performed some type of illegal activity, such as robbing a bank (rub was a typo). If the person was seen fleeing the bank, cknyoc's plates would be identified.
A10's statement that someone "could use your plate to rob a bank" gave me the visual of a person demanding money from the bank teller while waving the plate in their jacket pocket (instead of a gun). It isn't nearly as funny after having to explain it...
