Something fishy going on

I removed my stock bpv last night, and it does not have a vacuum hose attached to it whatsoever. I removed only 2 clamps, and there were only 2 openings on the bpv. everyone is telling me that there should have been a smaller vacuum hose attached as well, but this was not the case. I have a 20001.8TQM if this makes any difference. What's the deal? Did some years not have the vacuum hose?

The DV is located on left side of engine (facing engine bay) under the radiator. You must remove the bottom plastic shroud to get to it.
