Sound From Back Tires..

Hello, I have a A4 2.8 from 1998. A few weeks ago I started to notice a squeaking noise coming from the back driver side tire area. This noise is also accompanied by a thumping sound coming from right above the tire. I noticed these sounds while parked on a drive way. The sound is there when I am park or when I am driving though. Does anyone have an idea what this might be? It does not happen all the time but it is starting to worry me a little. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..
