Default Spark plugs... NGK6458 vs. NGK6437

Is there a good reason to spend $15 per plug instead of $5 per plug on a stock 1.8T?

Been getting random CEL (misfires/knock) in the cold and want to start with plugs. Someone just replaced mine, but used cheapo American plugs and I think that might be part of my problem. If that doesn't work, I'll try coils next (start cheap and work my way up I figure).

Codes 300 and 303 (and 328). So "random multi" and cyl 3.

Default Replace the plugs with these NGK BKR7E, .028 gap. If you still get a misfire,

figure out what cylinder and replace that coil. You might want to buy two and have one for a spare because they randomly go.

With those plugs you need to replace them every 5k, I do mine with every oil change.

Every 5K!? Isn't that excessively often?

NGK Double Platinum 6458 PFR6Q .032" every 20-30k miles. If you use the coppers, then every 5k.

BKR7E is for bigger turbos, not a stock/chipped 1.8T and .028 gap is only needed if bigger misfires.

No. I consider it routine work and change them with my oil.
