Default speaker question on 96 with delta/bose

i bought a used speaker from a fellow member to replace a blown one on my 96 (front/door)

so i pulled the door panel off yesterday and the speaker said "NOKIA" on it not bose
and the wiring was different
on the 96 speaker there was a place to plug in the wires coming from the deck, and then a place to plug in the wires going to the tweater above.

i just spliced them all into one plug and installed the BOSE speaker, sounds fine..
what do you guys think, is everything ok in your view???

Default Are you sure your car has Bose? The reason the Bose speaker didn't have the plug for the tweeter...

there is an additional bit of hardware that makes that connection.

Default Is there a little sticker on the door panels that says Bose? Do you have the 'extra' speaker on the

door for the phone? if not, you do NOT have the Bose system, just a deck coded for Bose(which is easily done with a VAG COM).

It's in the door panel, a bit above the audio speaker.

Default Well.. yes and no. It depends on where the high pass filter is...

if the high pass is built into the old speaker, and you bypassed it, you are going to be feeding too much low end to that tweeter, and could blow it. Also, by putting the Bose driver on a non bose system, you have a difference in the impedance from side to side, which will cause an odd sound stage.
