Default Speakers: '98 A4 1.8T

I would like to know the size of my speakers and which speakers in the market are the best for my car without making alterations.

Default If you did a search you'd find that replacing the speakers isn't as simple on our A4's as it is on

most cars. Search in the audi forum.

https://www.audiworld.com/forum/audio.html</a

Default Re:

Anyway, I will have to change them because they sound too bad. The size that crutchfield recomends for the rear deck speakers is 6-3/4" and in this forum I have seen a lots of 6.5". I need to know the real size.

Default the "real" size is.....

.........6.75".....but you can use pretty much anything back there...i've done 5.25", 6.5". 8", 6.75".....

as per the fronts, 4" stock but 5.25" works well :-)

and um....raplacing the speakers isn't hard...especially the rears...those are cake! (unlike the honda civic of the mid 90's wherein one needs to remove the rear seat!).

the fronts aren't as easy but still not hard....like 5 screws and a trip to ace hardware :-)

which speakers would you recommend me? I was thinking about jbl speakers but wasn't sure if the reardeck speakers would fit. Will I need extra power from an amp. to move these things? And, what mounting depth should my speakers be?

Default speakers

I've seem lots of people go with Focal 130k's
I believe its MB quart that sells the adapter plate to make the front opening fit a bigger speaker.

Default depends on your musical tastes

and budget ;-)

with jbl's you are almost certainly going to need a separate amp to power the speakers :-)
