Pat,
I hate to hear of your issues. I am curious did you install the unit with a stock dual mass flywheel. Dishing, commonly associated with used dual-mass assemblies, leads to improper seating of the new disc. The ideal situation requires using a pressure plate, disc, and flywheel that are flat. Resurfacing a dual-mass unit in not suggested or recommended in most instanced.
This is one of the reasons that we have decided to bring this product to the market. It allows for much simpler resurfacing, lighter weight, better performance, while also providing a cost effective alternative to buying another stock dual-mass FW.
Your issue kick-started my inquisitive nature leading me to search our RMA/Warranty records for issues associated with the Audi A4. I think that you and others will appreciate my findings:
Of the units that we have sold for the A4 less than 1/2 of 1% have been returned for warranty/check-up. Even more conclusive: 90% of these returned units were problematic due to break-in issues associated with Stage 2+ and greater clutches when installed with used dual-mass flywheels.
If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me directly by phone or email, or you can of course simply respond to this post. Thanks for your time.

There's no telling how much business Spec has lost because of it.
I'm sure it is a great product in most cases, but all it takes is one example like this to scare a lot of people away from the brand.

If they bent over for Pat, they would have to do similar restitution to others who have had to do up to three installs before getting a working clutch in their cars.
