Special tool needed to remove pulley from alternator on the 01.5s?
So my car is at my audi indy shop right now....took them about 10mins to take out the alternator, but since they haven't had to do an alternator change on an 01 or newer A4....they didn't realize that the pulley spins in both directions. Turns out they need this special tool (which has teeth) in order to remove the pulley from the old alternator. They've done a ton of the older A4s, and haven't had this problem. Kina sucks b/c they were on track to having it installed in like 30mins.....gotta wait until tomorrow after work to pick her up.

lol....its all good. At least I didn't attempt it myself. I would've probably torched the car...
out of frustration. I wonder how much extra the pulley would've been in order to skip having to remove the old one.
