The Speed Noise thread below made me think of this question....Just curious. Merry-Xmas

it was dumb. very dumb. I had a passenger.
at about 145 he just said "It sooo smooth, almost too smooth." we could have had a quiet conversation and not spilled a drop of coffee... it was like riding on glass. I'm sure if you were sleeping in the back, you wouldn't have even woken up.
fun now that I'm not dead.

pretty close to the end. What's the deal with rev limiters on our cars as well. I know pretty much what they do but how do they work and is it bad for the car or what?

The GIAC Chip removed my speed limiter. And I had a little help from the Trans Am WS6 in front of me that I was drafting....otherwise the car doesn't want to go much above 140.

...like a one tooth down on the countershaft sprocket and a couple teeth up in the rear. You'd EASILY see 180mph but really be running closer to 150mph. Even with a new cam, pistons, head gasket, and ECU there's no way a 636 would make enough power to hit 180mph. Actually, if you tell me it had a turbo and nitrous, I'll believe you were REALLY going 180mph ; )
