that story makes me glad i was never ticketed for speeding on my bike..
a buddy and i were issued tickets for riding without helmets back when we only had permits. what is funny is that we passed the unmarked cop on the highway, going about 100mph in a 50 zone, and he only gave us warnings for the speeding, but ticketed for the helmets, and didnt even mention the fact that it was night, which is also a no-no with just a permit.
couldn't hurt that that buddy was a sheriff at the time, and is now, at the age of 24, is police chief of a small nearby town lol... seriously the coolest cop i ever met
anyway, i never ride without my helmet now even though i have my endorsement.. ONLY time is if i take a passenger and don't have a spare helmet with me. i take it easy with passengers either way.
