Default Speeding ticket

Got a speeding ticket for 50 in a 25 (bad location for a 25 zone, the speed limit was about to go to 45 around the corner)any way,on the ticket it says he got me with stationary radar but my V1 never went off! any suggestions? no one else in the car but me.
I saw the cop and then realized i was doing just under 50 and downshifted right away but it was too late.

could you see the 45 mph sign up ahead? you could say you thought that it was the speed limit

Default nope

the 25 zone sucks, it is right between a 35 and a 45 zone and the sign for the 45 zone is around a bend, i got tagged just before the bend.

Default that sucks...im no lawyer but i think your best bet ...

is to tell them the truth to the exact detail and just try to convince them you knew what you were doing and made an honest error in judgement, not driving skill

Default That 45 mph speed zone should not start till the sign anyway.

The ticket should also be for where he got him on the radar.

Default true, but i am not sure he even got me with radar. What radar does not set off a V1?

But i have no way to prove it. My word against his.

Default V1 never went off? then you should have ask him to show the reading of the radar.

Same thing happened to me few days ago. but officer didnt gave me ticket because he didnt have any reading....
No evidence No ticket

Default Wrong (at least in NY). There doesn't need to be any radar reading. Cops visual estimation is good

enough "proof" that you were speeding. In fact, the V&T law in NY doesn't specify any particular speed value, only going faster than posted speed is illegal. The radar readings give the courts a value to determine punishment (fine level).

And, even if the cop does have a radar unit, he is not obligated in any way to show you what the reading was. Some do out of courtesy if they lock it in and you ask.

Default right but your "excuse" if your willing to go this far...

could be that you thought it had been the speed limit the whole time. its sneaky, but worked for a friend of mine going from a 35 to a 45.
