Default Speeding ticket help!

So I got a speeding ticket 35 in a 25. I was going with the flow of traffic but I guess the cop decided to give it to me the guy in the audi of corse. Any ideas of what I can do to fight the ticket. What mistakes can I look for in the ticket to get it thrown out of court? Thanks Adam

Default if the max speed=25.. u're still speeding even at 26 ..

go to court, hope the cop doesn't show up.. if he does, admit guilt and try plea bargain with cop to pay the fine and have the cop move it to a non-moving violation so u don't get any points. that's the best you can do.. if you argue for being not guilty, then there's a good chance you'll lose and still get the points.

Default Aren't you glad the cops have so much time to chase speeders down...

instead of looking for real crime? I beat the points on a 81 in a 65 ticket, but I hired a lawyer for that. I don't know if you can talk the prosecutor into giving you the "no points, careless driving" ticket yourself. They simply throw the points out and make you pay the fine, but I've heard it takes a lawyer to get that kind of break. It may not, but why chance it?

Default You don't plea bargain with the cop. You bargain with the District Attourney. Go to court early and

see if you can schedule a "conference" with the DA. Most often, they will allow you to plead guilty to a non-moving violation (like a noise ordinance). You will still pay the fine (the money part doesn't ever seem to go away...) but you won't have any points. That way, the town doesn't need to report it to the state, the town keeps the fine money.
Remember - it's all about money. Not safety.

PS - no minor mistakes on the ticket will save you. You must go to court and play the game.

Good luck.

Default If this is your first ticket you should be able to get it reduced to a

non-moving violation. 10 miles over the limit is small enough to plea bargain it down to a seat belt ticket or some other "no points" ticket. Just go to court and speak to the DA. Tell him you are willing to plea bargain for a non moving violation. You will have to pay a fine and maybe a heafty one but at least you wont get points on your license and your insurance wont go up!

Default Not true, some states are rigid (1 mile over is still speeding, some states are more flexible...

And allow what is called "resonable speed"
My lawyer got a ticket for also doing 35 in a 25. He took it to court (obviously) and told them that the speed of traffic was also 35. The court agreed w/ him and found him guilty. He says its the most he's ever learned about, more than in law school. go figure

Default you forget about the 85 percentile rule.

also tough to get u for 1 mile over due to calibration of different equipment.. such as your speedometer.. the radar.. etc..

Default As a follow up... I got a ticket doing 60 in a 30 and had it reduced

to 35 in a 30. I still got 3 points but it would have been 8 points. The DA told me that since I was going 30 miles over the limit he HAD to give me a moving violation. If it was 10 miles over, I would have gotten a $75 seat belt ticket and no points.

Pleae bargain and expect to pay at least a $100 fine. There is no reason why you would get points.
