Default Splash guard/Scrape guard: How important is it to keep it on the car?

The clips are missing and the damn thing rattles around and it is on my fvcking nerves.

The other side of this is that it is keeping debris from entering and keeping all the nasty crap they put on the roads during the winter partly out of the engine bay.

If I can get new clips I'll keep it on but it seems like a hassle for such little reward.

Until you bottom out and crack the oil pan, tear a hose or two, or do some other damage.

I use zipties...it's a pain in the *** but it gets the job done. Try the dealer first.

Default Im sure it does.

Scrape it enough times and eventually it will put a hole in it, the plastic prtoects it from that. If you are going to drive the car into a curb thats another story.

Default It won't hurt to leave it off.

I did after backing in the snow and it ripped it's self off. But like you said, it keeps crap out of the engine bay and oil off the garage floor. And probably helps when driving in heavy rain.
