1) I would not recommend it. The best anology I've heard is that using the 8000e in the snow is like wearing your sneakers out in the snow (doable but risky) - go get some boots (i.e., dedicated snow tires)!
2) When the archives are back on-line, do a search on snow tires and winter tires - you'll be reading for hours.
3) Next time post this on the Wheel& Tire forum.

If you'd check the archives, you'd see the overwhelming consensus is don't try it. I used Nokia Haaka 1 tires last winter; so long as tires on teh ground, was fine. However, sprot package does restrict ground clearance; had occassions where I had to get thru 6+ inches of snow (pulling onto recently plwed road, for example), and could feel the bottom scraping and lack of traction as car was pushed up. Old Coupe Quatrtro had about 1" more clearance, was better in heavy snow.

All-season tires are pretty much a compromise in every situation. They're not terrible, but not
great either. While I could get going in the snow without much wheelspin, I could feel the ABS
kick in even when lightly touching the brakes. Wasn't real confidence inspiring, so I opted for
a set of snows. Huge difference! Handling and braking in snow is much, much better....just
gotta be careful not to get overconfident and do something dumb!
