Default Sport suspension q

Hey all,

I got my A4 on Sept last year (flaming 1.8T in blue (awesome)). However the dealer/audi messed up and didn't get me the sport package. After waiting for 4 months, I said, WTF, give it to me.

Now, I feel like there's a lot of roll on long sharpish curves (like getting of from 95 in Boston). I'm assuming that if I get the sport suspension (which I've seen advertised in the Audi mag) would help to fix this. Is this true? To what extent?

The other thing is that a while ago the plastic below my bumper got caught on a curb (it had a little metal thing) and got pulled off. Would lowering the car 3cm (30mm) become to much of a hassle? What are your perceptions now?

I'm not intending in changing the wheels (at least for now).

Any ideas? Or getting that "antiroll" bar help?

Thanks!

- Roberto

Default Some info...

The sport springs in the catalog are lower and firmer than the factory sport springs. That means 2 things to you.

First, your stock shocks are not tuned well for these and the ride will take on a pogo-stick-like quality unless you upgrade shocks too - the Bilstein Sport shocks are a very good choice. Alsoo the stock sway bars are smaller than the sport bars and while the springs do reduce dive and sway a bit the bigger bars are a plus. This combination will completely transform the car in terms of handling. You will probably be enjoying going around corners a lot more and find yourself looking at high performance wheels and tires to improve the feel further. It is a addicting...

Second, being about 1.5 inches lower than stock is going to get you into more trouble with curbs and the like, not less, so if you cant figure out where your front and rear end are you will have more trips to the body shop.

Default A good idea ....

A suspension upgrade is a very popular mod. My suggestion: Purchase some Bilstein Sport shocks, along with Eibach springs/Audi Euro springs. This combination will most likely lower your Audi about 1". Your car will feel stiffer, but, much more responsive. You'll eliminate some front end float and gain overall stability. Do some archive checking for some aftermarket sway bars, that people have been buying - This will flatten your car even more.
