Default Springs or Coilovers

Ok Im going to be adding alot of MODs to my A4 2001...With Sports suspension. I wanted to know from yall...I considering getting ABT Coilovers or Springs...the springs I can get for about 500 bucks less..I might also consider KW Coilovers or some other kind of springs...What I want to know..is it worth going the extra mile to get the Coilovers if I just wanna be lower..but with as nice of a ride as I got now? What should I do..its quite a bit of money.

Default Coilovers all the way

If you can afford them, they are way better than any shock/spring combo.. (just my opinion..) I have H&R S4 coilovers (which are stiffer) and just love them--Granted it is a stiffer ride, you can feel more bumps, but it drives like a dream. In the end, its all worth it.. Plus you can raise it and lower to what ever settings you want.. For instance, you could raise for the winter time, so that you wont have any chance of getting stuck. I also had the Sports suspension, im kinda mad at myself for not getting them sooner!! Hope that this helped..

Keep it real,

Default If you just want lower, with the same handling, you'll be disappointed with anything you get.

Aftermarket suspensions are geared for handling, period! Some are better than others, but I have yet to hear of one that is as soft as the factory suspension. You're going to give up some comfort...if you're not prepared for that, then don't swap out your sport suspension. In terms of comfort, coilovers preserve more comfort by virtue of the shock being matched to the spring. The ABT kit consists of a matched shock and spring assembly AFAIK, so that should ride pretty smooth as well. In general, coilovers tend to be stiffer than shock and spring set ups, but this isn't always true. Having never tried the ABT kit, I can't comment on it. Try to get a ride from locals so you can begin to get a feel for aftermarket suspensions.
