I have also heard though that if you get just springs your ride will be ok, but it really lessens the life of your shocks. Which one of these is true? Does anyone have any experience with just springs? I don't have enough $$$ right now to get the whole spring/shock setup and I just got new rims so I was just checking out my lowering options. if you want more performance you will sacrifice ride quality. stiffer springs and shocks will inherently give you a harsher ride. The amount of sarifice depends on the spring stiffness, and the shock dampening.

secondly you can do:
-springs and shocks
-just springs
-just shocks
-coilovers (which are a matched and mated pair of spring/shocks set-up and designed to work with eachother)

Thirdly, getting just springs will cause your stock shocks to wear much more rapidly. Several people have done this, and some have no issues and some have lots of wear issues...it's a gamble.

What do you want out of a suspension set up? better street handling? track use? just for looks?
