Springs or Springs and shocks
Do you think i could get away with just springs or do you think i should also buy the bilstein shocks to go along with them...and if i dont buy the shocks what would be the problems that could occur.. Thanks

hmm... everybody say that OEM shocks will fail with lowering springs, but ...
I've had lowering springs (H&R 60mm/40mm) on both my A4's and the shocks has held up just fine.

You will kill your shocks eventually. Unless you don't care about driving around with blown shocks
or you are selling your car in less than a year, just get a good combo, does not cost you THAT MUCH more.
I just got the H&R cup kit for 620 shipped, but there is also a place where you can get it for around 560.
Good springs will run you about 300 and you have to take the trouble of seperating the stock shock/spring... just go a little more and do it right
