Lately when I start my car and then put it in to Drive (Tiptronic), press the gas and get up to around 5mph, a squeaking sound - kind of like metal on metal - eminates from what seems to be the engine bay.

This morning when taking a left turn I heard it again but I had been driving the car for a few minutes by then. This time it sounded like it came from the drivers side front wheel somewhere.

It only happens when its first started up, as if the engine is still cold, but what would be rubbing?

check the black engine cover: it might be rubbing on a hose
(that wouldn't be metal on metal, but there
are enough metal fittings too).

how many miles? could be the water pump berrings. or a fan belt
