squeaky noise coming from front passenger side.i heard that the noise is most likely a control arm..
so i began to inspect the arms. i then later found that one of the boots on one of the lower control arms was damaged so i replaced the control arm yesterday and the noise seemed to go away for a couple hours then it came back...i just took the wheel off again and inspected the contorl arms and boots again but they look fine and sealed.. now im am beginning to think it is the shock but i also took the shock out and tried to compress it a couple times w/out the spring and i heard no unusual noise.. any suggestions

do the wheel wiggle test
jack car up, try to turn wheel (left to right, not forward backward) and see if any of the joints move. My CA boot looked fine but it was the joint inside that was clunking.

Re: did you torque everything with the wheels on the ground or in the air???
i torqued it with only the one wheel in the air... otherwise i wouldnt be able to reach the control arms with the tire on and on the ground..???

there is your problem...
find some ramps, drive it up there and then tighten everything up. The bushings need to be in their normal position with a load. Check out the tech article, good info in there.
