Default Squealing noise when clutch being released.....

I notice a squealing noise like a belt slipping when disengaging the clutch (about 1/2 way)to start off. Usually hear this internmitanly when car is warm. Anyone else experience this ??

Yep...been there done that. It's one of two things...either the belt tensioner...or the more nasty one...which is what mine was.

Faulty Throw Out Bearing...have the belt tensioner checked...if it looks good then it's time to drop the tranny and replace the Throw Out Bearing and the Pilot Bearings. It's pretty serious work...so if your clutch is shot you might wanna have that done at the same time too. There is NOTHING that will fix it if it's the TO bearing. Mine was VERY intermittent...I could nary once repeat it for the dealer...they took it on faith when I told them I was certain of what it was...sure enough it fixed the problem...after they wasted Audi's $$$ doing the damn tensioner.

That was on my 99 A4 BTW

Regards,

James R.

Sounds like a throw out bearing.

Default Ditto that...

Yup same thing for me 9,000 miles ago. My clutch is really weak right now and slips crazy. Well this last week, every once in a while I get "the dreaded squeek", I swear if it is it again...damn and time for heavy duty clutch and lightend flighwheel!!! We'll see!
