Default Stalling engine A4 2.8 (96)

Would anyone know why my car temps to stall when I come down to a stop or on occasion when I'm at a red light, the engine stalls. What could be the reason why it does that? I've also noticed that when the car is warm and that I'm parked, the revolution of the engine goes up to 1250(on its' own)and then comes back down.

Idle Control Valve. Most 2.8 12v engines will have stalling due to dirty or faulty ICV.

Read the two links in the post that I have linked. That should answer all your questions.

My 97 had the same problem, ended up being a bad vacuum line.

Should I use any chemical product to clean it?
