I wouldn't drive that car five feet. Tow it somewhere else.

Default sign up for AAA... with an audi, you should have it anyway. You may have to wait a few

days to tow it though.

Default On my 2001 2.8L V6, I paid $1100, but in addition to timing belt ....

.... I also had the water pump, tensioner and pulley, 6 NGK Iridium plugs, a cabin filter and a serpentine belt replaced.

Default Don't feel bad: my front block plate gasket fix (oil lk) + belts etc was $1870

at the dealership--plus they screwed it up, too. They never listened to me when I told them straight up that the oil leak was coming from the front of the block. They did all that work and DIDN'T fix it. had to take it back 2nd time--car was gone almost 2 weeks total. Pissed me off---only reason I myself didn't do it was the lack of time, and I wasn't going to spend $178 for a positive lockout device that i might use once ever.

Default Agreed. AAA is the deal of the century. Best 32 or 36 bucks you'll ever spend. Their "Gold" plan is

unlimited tows per year, believe it or not. Used it plenty of times when I got stuck midway through a project and needed it towed to a buddy's house to finish the deal.
